PHOTOS: Jinjer and Suicide Silence Bring the Heavy Back to Bogart's

Rebecca Potzner

On November 9th, Ukranian Metal band, Jinjer brought what was probably the most hardcore show Bogart’s has seen since the pandemic. The Cincinnati venue was packed and ready to open up the pit.

American deathcore band, Suicide Silence kicked off the night and set the bar high. While I wasn’t all too familiar with their discography before the show, their stage presence reeled me in.

Next, it was time for Jinjer to take the stage. Right off the bat, Tatiana was incredibly engaged with the crowd, feeding off of their energy. I’ve never witnessed someone work a stage while being so visibly aware of the crowd and their vivivacity. It was enamoring to witness. Backed by an incredible light show, the band was giving it their all. They sounded better than I could have imagined live. I am always blown away by Tatiana’s range and ability to go from deep guttural screams to soft beautiful singing.

Jinjer still has plenty of tour dates this year, so make sure to catch them in a city near you. View tour dates HERE and check out photos from the show below….

PHOTOS: Mammoth WVH Rocks Bogart's in Cincinnati Ohio

Rebecca Potzner

Seeing a band live for the first time is the true test. Will they sound as good as they do on the album? Will they keep the attention and energy of the audience?

Last week, Mammoth WVH brought their tour to Cincinnati to play the historic Bogart’s and I’m happy to say I left the show feeling exhilarated and ready for another show.

For this show, there was no opener. Mammoth WVH was the main attraction and the venue was full of people ready to experience Wolf’s debut album live. The energy and shared love for the Van Halen’s among the crowd was palpable. Finally, at 9pm the lights went down and the crowd roared.

They kicked the show off with ‘Don’t Back Down’ (which recently hit #1 on the active Rock radio charts) and had the crowd hooked instantly. Joining Wolf on the road is Ronnie Ficarro on bass/vocals, Jon Jourdan on guitar/vocals, Frank Sidoris on guitar and Garret Whitlock on drums. Their energy on the stage meshed incredibly well. Everyone brought a little something to the stage without overpowering the others. For a live show, they sounded pretty damn close to the album. Wolf’s voice came across powerful and the smile on his face revealed just how happy he was to be on that stage.

Take a look at the photos below and check out Mammoth WVH on one of their upcoming tour dates. I promise you, you won’t regret it.

Dirty Honey and Joyous Wolf Bring the Heat to Fort Wayne, Indiana on Last Tour Stop

Live music is back but the way Dirty Honey and Joyous Wolf commanded the stage last week at Piere’s in Fort Wayne, Indiana, you’d think it never left. Hell, you’d never guess this was the last show of the tour. The energy from both bands was searing.

Taking the spotlight first, Joyous Wolf did more than just warm up the crowd. With a set list mixed of crowd favorites and LOTS of unreleased tunes, they truly captivated the crowd with their passion and verve.

As the stage changes, the lights go down, and Dirty Honey ascends from the green room onto the stage. Excitement is at an all time high.

Now, there’s truly no better way to experience rock n roll live and Dirty Honey ALWAYS does it justice. The 4-piece sound spot on to their recordings….only better. When you’re at a Dirty Honey show, you not only get to hear your favorites but you’re treated to fiery solo sessions from Justin, Corey, and John. Don’t worry, Marc does his part too. Captivating the crowd with his strong whaling, he worked the stage and interacted with the crowd. There was never a moment where one person in the band didn’t look like they were absolutely overjoyed with being on stage. I caught little moments of them smiling or dancing to themselves as the music played on. It just felt so genuine. And as a treat this time around, we even got to hear them cover Aerosmith.

Overall, the show was raw, real, and fun as hell. Check out the photo recap below and give my review of their album a read here.
