Seeing a band live for the first time is the true test. Will they sound as good as they do on the album? Will they keep the attention and energy of the audience?
Last week, Mammoth WVH brought their tour to Cincinnati to play the historic Bogart’s and I’m happy to say I left the show feeling exhilarated and ready for another show.
For this show, there was no opener. Mammoth WVH was the main attraction and the venue was full of people ready to experience Wolf’s debut album live. The energy and shared love for the Van Halen’s among the crowd was palpable. Finally, at 9pm the lights went down and the crowd roared.
They kicked the show off with ‘Don’t Back Down’ (which recently hit #1 on the active Rock radio charts) and had the crowd hooked instantly. Joining Wolf on the road is Ronnie Ficarro on bass/vocals, Jon Jourdan on guitar/vocals, Frank Sidoris on guitar and Garret Whitlock on drums. Their energy on the stage meshed incredibly well. Everyone brought a little something to the stage without overpowering the others. For a live show, they sounded pretty damn close to the album. Wolf’s voice came across powerful and the smile on his face revealed just how happy he was to be on that stage.
Take a look at the photos below and check out Mammoth WVH on one of their upcoming tour dates. I promise you, you won’t regret it.
